Will the JW Speaker 8700 be the new Jeep LED Headlight Option

Most Jeep enthusiasts know what types of LED headlights are available for their vehicle, and arguably the most popular option in recent years has been the JW Speaker model 8700 LED Headlight. This model of the available Jeep headlight options has the most futuristic and unique look, and the best light output of any other 7″ round LED Headlight on the market, so it’s no wonder that they are the most popular.

Because it has become such a popular product in the Jeep community, it’s no wonder it has caught the eye of Jeep corporate. At last year’s SEMA show (2013) the Mopar booth had Truck-Lite LED headlights branded with the Jeep logo.

Now in 2014 at the Jeep booth they have JW Speaker 8700 LED headlights, factory equipped with H13 connectors, and the Jeep logo branded on the inner bezel. Why does Jeep keep debuting different LED headlights at their booth with the Jeep logo? My guess is they are just feeling the water for the market, throwing options at the wall to see what sticks and to see what people like.

Here are the pictures from the Jeep booth, showing the JW Speaker LED headlights marketed in the Jeep booth at SEMA 2014:

A Look at the 2014 Corvette Stingray LED and HID Headlights

The new Corvette Stingray is a pretty wild machine… using carbon and nanotech technology to create a super strong chassis along with new wild and intelligent styling and a super powerful 450HP LT1 engine. In my opinion the icing on the cake are the wild new LED and HID bi-xenon headlights:

The new C7 headlights are pretty wild! Built in DRL and bi-xenon HID forward lighting.

The first time I saw these headlights were at the 2013 SEMA show in Las Vegas where there were a BUNCH of these cars on display, and the first thing I thought of was similarity to the Ferrari 458 Italia headlights:

The Ferrari 458 has a similar style headlight to the new Stingray.

The fact that the Ferrari and Corvette share such a similar luxury design really shows the target the new Vette is trying to hit and with all the details and style that went into the new car it shows Chevrolet really knows what they are doing with this car!  After getting some really good looks at the new Corvette Stingray headlights this is what we can tell you about it:

1. Amber LED turn signals on the outside of each headlight

2. White LED DRL under each projector

3. Bi-Xenon 35w HID High and Low beam head lamp

4. Black housings

5. Corvette logo embossed on lens above projector

Here is a quote from the Chevrolet.com website about all new head lamps:
“Frosted indirect high-intensity discharge headlamps are the eyes to the technological soul of the Stingray, emanating crisp color, brightness and efficiency. The new elements bear a sharper, more sinister shape, framed by edge-lit amber LED turn signals and black chrome housing. Bi-Xenon HID technology achieves high and low beams with a single light engine.”

FR-S and BRZ are the Most Popular Vehicles at the 2013 SEMA Show

The 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas was the start of a new trend, manufacturers, car builders and enthusiasts started to showcase the passion for what is trending to be the hottest car for the automotive aftermarket since the Nissan 350z!

There were more Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ cars at SEMA than any other individual car model at the show!

The 2013 SEMA Show featured an abundance of Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ cars all modded with Spyder tail lights, duck-bill trunk lids, wide wheels and crazy paint jobs. Check out our photo gallery of some of our favorite BRZ/FRS cars that we saw at the SEMA show:

The GTR Lighting Rally Car at the Ojibwe Rally Event

We got a chance to attend the 2013 Ojibwe Rally Event and it was a blast. The Ojibwe Rally takes place in north central Minnesota and is spread out through the state. The Ojibwe Rally is known for its technical corners and dust. And the dust… was… bad! As a spectator or a driver, the dust was going to give you problems seeing this year. GTR Lighting had a solution for it though! They captured the event from the sky, above the dust ,with a quadcopter setup. A few days after the event GTR Lighting posted this video for the world to see. Nick Roberts Global Rally Team (formerly Nicksquared) took first place in the SP (Super Production) class at Ojibwe Rally. Nick said he always continues to get better but he also had an advantage because he grew up in Minnesota very close to these roads. Nick Roberts Global Rally Team is quickly moving forward and so is their sponsors GTR Lighting! GTR Lighting continues to grow and create new, higher quality products for many versatile applications. They are known for their HID Conversion Kits and their LED Logo Projectors but they are going to be know for a lot more than that.

GTR Lighting LED bulbs at SEMA 2012!

Kia Forte LED Bulbs at SEMA from GTR Lighting

The “Cyborg Forte” custom build at 2012 SEMA was part of a superhero display and used red LED bulbs in the front parking light spot by GTR Lighting.

The 2012 SEMA show was an awesome event, just like every year and during last week’s event was the first time ever you could see the new 24-LED bulb replacements on display at such an event. Here are two vehicles showcasing the colored LED bulb replacements, first on the Kia Forte “Cyborg” concept build inside the Kia booth. Secondly in the Smart Wax booth installed on the new Scion XB.

These are the 24-LED bulbs from GTR Lighting used in these show cars.

The 2012 Kia Forte looks great with aftermarket LED bulbs in the front housing because there is no amber reflector to block the great looking bulb. I don’t recommend using a red bulb up front like KIA did, but it looks cool for the show!

The new Scion XB built and setup in the Speed Wax booth at the SEMA Show used a set of white LED bulbs in the front turn signal housings which is a cool effect because it adds a daytime running light or driving light effect where there previously wasn’t one. This particular show car had a strobe light module set up that looked really great, but just adding the LED bulbs in place looked fantastic as well!
